The initial reaction for the HIV aids would obviously create panic and can also be shocking in general. According to my personality and the past record that how I reacted to the tense situations, the two major reactions, that I might give initially are, sadness and frustration. On the other hand, the positive HIV test is not necessarily a death sentence so it is also not obvious that I may panic and react aggressively. Reacting in calm manner is also a possibility to wards the positive HIV aids (UNAIDS, 2010).

My reaction might change, this means that I might get angry and more frustrated, though not initially but, later when I will think about the several factors such as my health, my activities and changes in my life. Apart from this, I might also think about whether I would live alive or is it going to be difficult for me to recover from aids. This factor can change my reactions to the worst form because it will make me more frustrated and more panicky.

As stated above, the positive HIV test is not a death sentence and so it is not essential to make any major changes in my life. This is because there are many people infected with HIV since 15 or 20 years and are still living a healthier life. Considering this, there will be no major changes in my life except for paying regular visits to the doctors and also the involvement of medications in my life.

The fist step after getting knowledge about the positive HIV test will be consulting a doctor having a great extent of knowledge regarding HIV. It is not necessary that I will be able to find good doctors in one go. I can also consult with my regular doctor and he or she can guide me to good doctors who can deal my case with expertise. Apart from this, my friends or any other close relative may recommend some good doctor to me for HIV.

I will not tell about the positive HIV test until it is confirmed and secondly until I am ready to tell. After this step, I will let my family know about this news which will be difficult for them to accept but will not be difficult for me to tell. I will also let this know to may sex partner but this will be a very difficult job. Moreover, I will not tell this to my employer or my coworkers. As far as friends are concerned, I will only disclose this to my close friends who can help me out morally.

There are some major decisions that I will take after the positive HIV test. The two major areas of decision making would be about the future health and about the sexual health.
