Introduction

Susan Eloise Hinton was a well known novelist, and known to her readers as S. E. Hinton, she was born in Oklahoma, in the year 1950, the thing that influenced the massive of her young fictions. In fact, Hinton is generally admired as the person who formulated the revolution with the tone of young adult fiction, by using practical, realistic stories such as the Tulsa. In this context, she mentioned her ugly background, and it then became successful debut novel, the novel was published outside the country in the year 1967, she was too young at that time. She had set examples for many other students at schools. She then became the ideal of many; she was only seventeen, when her novel was published (Anderson & Terry, 200).

The book has been adapted and directed by Christopher Cain for movie named, “That was then this is now”. The movie depicts all the characters mentioned in the book and shows a clear picture. The movie was directed in a very practical manner. Media adaption of the book

That Was Then, This Is Now is also a movie, which was produced in 1985, by Christopher Cain, and it was written by Emilio Estevez story was almost same as of the novel, and starring Craig Sheffer as Bryon, Estevez as Mark, Kim Delaney as Cathy, and Morgan Freeman as Charlie. Hinton assisted with the production of the film, which is available on video from Paramount Home Video.

In the movie, Mr. Estevez fully accomplished his goal by giving himself utmost of what are measured to be good scenes, manages to be serious, and romantic at the very same time. In this context, it is complete Miss Hinton reflects emotional novel about sober, attracts mainly young readers.
