Introduction

The process of colonization started in 1607 and continued till the establishment of all the colonies in the British. Different types of colonies were formed and the British made sure that the Americans fit completely in their empire. Initially, none of the colonies questioned their existence in the British Empire until the American Revolution. Prior to the revolution, all the colonies saw themselves as the subjects of the Crown and abandoned their rights and responsibilities to the British Empire (Henretta .et.al, 2011).
