The Egyptian Civilization

Introduction

In the middle of the desert came one of the most splendid civilizations of history, Egyptian Civilization. It survived for over 30 centuries, which made an everlasting mark on the face of this earth. Egyptians gave many things to the today's world including writing, calendar, medicine and wonderful architectural works that continue to defy the inexorable rigor time. Apart from that, the beautiful artistic testimonies, mummies, kings, gods and others were one of the distinguishing features. Egyptians flourished not only intellectually, but also in many other ways that we know today as the art knowledge about the culture, beliefs, astronomical, etc.

The civilization of Egypt was one of the biggest in every sense, all born around the rivers. This country was not only pyramids or mummies, behind the monuments are mythologies, beliefs, religions and a number of things to try to appoint to as the significance of the Nile in the economic and cultural aspects. Egypt today is not the great empire that it was, but the remains of previous civilizations left their mark and are rooted in the depths of the people and their customs, which is why many people around the world travel to enjoy the wonders that are associated with the rich and organized civilization as it was in Egypt.

Discussion

The Egyptians were conservative people that strongly believed in religion and had a very interesting mythology (Baines, pp 120 - 121). At a relatively late stage, the Egyptians stopped completely believing in their religion gods, and got more interested in the religion of other races. Egyptians were a very strong civilization, which was well organized, highly intellectual and had strong cultural and religious beliefs. There were various factors that enabled them to leave the everlasting mark on the world's history (Bard, pp 100 - 102). These are discussed below:

Egyptian Origin

The ancients attributed to believe that an African origin came from the Upper Nile Ethiopia is known today, are known as the Egyptians. Egyptians, in past centuries originated from a region called Punt, probably located along the Somali coast (Allen, Pp 78 - 81). These ancient Punistas from South Africa and India that settled at banks of the river Nile have been invaded and influenced by northern invaders that resulted in the birth of dynasties.

The course of the river is based upon the subsequent subdivision of the country in Upper Egypt (Thebes), Middle Egypt (Heptanomida) and Lower Egypt (Delta). This division, under the three major historical periods: Memfita, Theban and Saite, distributed thirty-three dynasties of pharaohs. Without the Nile, all the Egyptian territory would be uncultivated and a barren desert (Wilkinson, pp 89 - 93).

Egyptian Location

The Nile River hydrographic regime is characterized by 2 annual floods that occur in summer. Therefore, the prosperity of Egypt depends on the annual flooding of the Nile, by flooding a long strip along its banks watered and fertilized, placing on them a thin layer of silt, which enables the Egyptians to cultivate some crops.
