Introduction

This paper will compare two movies 'Judgment at Nuremberg' and 'Shoah.' These two movies are based on the event of Holocaust. Holocaust was the mass murder of Jews under the German Nazi regime throughout the year 1941-1945. These two movies reflect on the same concept and have done a good job by depicting it. Holocaust was one of the fiercest incidents that took place in history. This paper will discuss how these two movies have depicted this concept.

Judgment at Nuremberg

Judgment at Nuremberg is an American movie that displays the concept of Holocaust and the post World War II Nuremberg Trials. The movie was directed by Stanley Kramer and starred various actors and actresses.

The movie starts with the scene of trials were all the German officers are present. It shows that the country is destroyed due to the World War II that just got over. The scenes of the trials show that the director wants to prove that the Germans have committed a sinful act and they should be punished. The initial scenes of the movie about the trials of the German prove that they were guilty and should be punished. The concept of victimization is evident from the fact that the Germans killed the Jews during the Nazi's regime. This made them the worst human beings that could ever exist in this world. Killing a whole ethnic community is no humanity. People who are involved in such acts have no right to consider themselves as humans.

The concept of redemption is evident from the movie with the scenes when the trials are taking place. Redemption means saving someone from a sin or a criminal act. The movie shows that they are saving the Jews from the Germans (thought most of them have been killed). The remaining Jews were saved due to the trials that were taking place against the Germans, and because the Germans were being punished for what they have done, nobody else had the courage to do such a sinful act again.

The concept of evil is found throughout the movie. The movie is based on the Holocaust which shows that evil prevails throughout the movie. The Jews were killed by the German Nazi's which means that evil was one of the most evident factor in the movie throughout.
