THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

The Hospitality Industry

Hospitality

The hospitality industry encompasses hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, casinos, and spas. A typical green issue in this area is the use of water. Hotels use an average of about 150 gallons of fresh water per occupied room per day; some use much more. Even apart from intentional usage, small amounts of waste from dripping faucets or inefficient toilets add up considerably when multiplied by the numerous bathrooms in the hotel. In an effort to conserve water, some hotels provide financial incentives for employees to help meet a water-reduction goal, which encourages the cleaning staff to reduce the amount of water they use when cleaning. Part 1:

1.Coefficient Correlation Relation between “Total Employment Cost” and Variable

A squared, semipartial correlation coefficient can be used in connection with multiple regression analysis to measure the strength of the association between the dependent and an independent variable, taking into account the relationships among all the variables. A squared semipartial correlation coefficient is also called a squared part correlation.

With above data for correlation of coefficient we have identified total employment cost as the base of the calculation and compared it with number of enterprises, total turnover and total purchases of goods, materials and services.

For Total turnover

From the scores calculated above means we have seen that the relation between total turnover and total employment costs is strong which means 0. 99750. The terms strong relation means if the turnover increases the number of total employment also increases, which shows a positive sign for job market. The increase in turnover will change the market for job and increase chances for new employment. (Cohen rt al, 2003. 12)

For Total purchases of goods

With above calculated data, shows the result that the relation between total purchase of goods and total employment is strong with the data measured which means 0.99307 is a required result as compared to the other variables. This ensures that goods industry will be highly affected with the hospitality industry and the relation shows if the hotel industry raises the margin of profit for goods industry will also rises. (Cohen rt al, 2003. 12)
