The Life of Nehemiah

Background

I am introduced as the bearer to the Persian emperor Artaxerxes. My name is not known outside of the Bible, but also the book of Esther tells us that many Jews reached prominent positions in the administration Persian. I am a man in search of solutions and knees with a broken heart and desperate for the Presence of God. My heart is in Jerusalem, but when I learn the state of this poor people, regarding the Jews, I sit down, I cry, I mourn, and will present a prayer to God that moves us.

I belonged to the tribe of Judah, and my family must have been a native of Jerusalem. I lived during the rule Persian of Judea, and was cupbearer to the king Artaxerxes I, who was allowed to rule the Hebrew nation to solve the serious cult status. I completed the work of the scribe Ezra before returning to serve in the Persian court.

I was 81 years of age, after the return from captivity. I was still young to do all the things that will enumerate. I was born in captivity and never knew Jerusalem and it is the fact of his birth, is occupied in the immediate vicinity of the great emperor of the Medo-Persian monarchy and, is cupbearer to the king, which would correspond nowadays, to minister. Important position and great opportunities in my everyday life was my authority, abilities that are in my possession.
