The Need for Gun Control

Introduction

This topic has been debated since many years. The United States has formulated a law according to which the use of gun is restricted. This restriction has been placed after a lot of debate and the right of possession of guns, arms and ammunition has not been given to everyone. The government of the country should make sure that the common man does not have access to guns in all conditions. The second amendment of the United States Constitution states that: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Discussion

This law and amendment does not mean that every person has the right to possess guns. The need for gun control has been placed to make sure that there is no inappropriate use of guns and people should also make sure that they act according to the law. Although, this law has been passed, but there is still a lot of debate going on, on the same issue. This means that the people of the country possess guns and do not pay much attention to the law that has been passed. There are a number of reasons why this law should be accepted and why the government should make use of the law of gun control (Nisbet, pp. 14).

The increase in the rate of murders is one of the reasons why there is a dire need of this law.
