Introduction

The topic aforementioned has been infact a reality for those who chose to be the one, who are amongst the normal people and chooses to be a bit different from the others. In our lives it is more often found that out of the many children / pupil few are very different from the others and act as if they are either too feminish (in boys) and too manly ( in girls). These are the people who feel naturally to talk in this way and people either call them a tomboy or it's opposite the sissy boy. Let's discuss about what it means by tomboy first.

Tomboys are girls, which are consistent with standard gender role behavior of boys. The term can also be applied to adult women. The unadjusted relative to socio cultural norms behavior occurs among others in the following forms:

Typically masculine manner appearance.

Interest in topics that are awarded by the company rather young (like football or science)

Attempts to close friendships with boys more likely (as opposed to homo sociality)

The phenomenon occurs mainly in puberty and is of the gender studies followed with interest, as it is a delimitation of the binary gender concept. The reasons for this behavior are not fully understood, certain events in education are suspected as biological causes. Some tomboys notice sooner or later, her lesbianism , others that they transgendered are, few recognize a transsexual , most remain heterosexual women and many later put much of their society often perceived as gender atypical behavior again. During puberty, tomboys have often as their male counterparts, the sissy boys fight with hostility and problems.

Tom, a colloquial abbreviation for Thomas is, at least since 1377 in the English speaking world as a kind of generic nickname for the common uses man. This is the name Tom Thumb from 1579 one small statured man and from about 1755 to 1765 describes it usually used as an adjective or compounds the males of certain species such as tom turkey or tomcat (Doty, 1993, pp.134-140).

Tomboy comes from late Middle High German language.
