Thucydides (ca. 460 -398 BC) was an ancient Greek historian, world famous for writing the History of the Peloponnesian War. This is a classic, historical work, the first of its kind, which recounts the events of the war between Athens and Sparta (Peloponnesian War, 431 - 404 BC). In the description, of the plague of Athens, which struck the city in 430-429 BC Thucydides (ca. 460 to. C -after 397 BC) showed all his skill in observation and careful analysis of acute events. Thucydides had no intention of giving us the generic pictures, but he aimed to present a historical phenomenon in all its tragic expression. The Boccaccio imagines that the Black Death is more lethal, eliminating three quarters of the European population and changing completely the history of the world.
