Introduction

In today's world, the influence of technology on societies has increased to a level where every possible action is based on the usage of technology. The technological impact on the overall collective human race is so common that if technology were wiped out then it would cause such a scenario of dark ages.

Technology has mainly improved the overall standards of a society by initially providing strong medium of communication and helping to develop an international system of interaction for individuals, groups, organizations and for the overall society to have an unreachable access. However, the influence of technology on the society faces a considerable disagreement because of the negative effects it carries. It is considered that the influence of technology is damaging the dynamics and the active approach of the society making them lazy and inactive (Haugen & Musser, 2007).

Many sociological theories have explained the relationship between technology and society. In this regard, theories have developed the understanding on how to handle the implications of technology, avoiding harms to the society.

Technological Determinism

The theory suggests that there is a direct relationship of technology and social changes in society. The implications exist in a way that any new technology will have an impact on the society, enhancing the freedom of usage and power of democracy and no pressure can be exerted by political or social influences on the use of technology.

Social Constructivism

The sociological theory states against the technological determinism approach and develops a criterion that any implications of technology can be controlled by society and through alternative possibilities.
