ABSTRACT

The research study measures the level of well organized supply chain that can be of assistance to the retail business particularly wine businesses that can control the risk that is present in the particular industry. The research study has taken into account the supply chain process in the wine retail sector. The research study has not only analyzed the supply chain process in general but there is also a comparison of the United States and the Nigerian wine retail industry. The Tee Sky Com that is considered to be one of the major independent wine supplier and retailing firm in Nigerian industry has also been analyzed in order to check the supply chain process of the organization. As information system continues to increase in use and importance in the supply chain processes, the IS alignment with supply chain practices and strategies becomes very critical. Literature in this area is still emerging. In order to measure the level of organized supply chain in a retail business, the research study has firstly outlined the supply chain management of the general organizations. By analyzing the supply chain management of such organizations, the research study would be able to explore the supply chain process of the well organized supply chain. The research study also aims at analyzing the retail industry so that the supply chain process adopted by the organizations in this industry can be compared. This research thus attempts to make a significant contribution to the literature on supply chain management. The retailing is one of the fastest growing businesses of the world that aims at providing the customers with goods at relatively lower prices having high quality that enhance the level of customers satisfaction. It has been observed that the sustainable levels of competitive advantage can be achieved by the companies integrating a deep perceptive of the client's demands (Anita, 2001,, 67).
