This work of William Blake greatly emphasize over the practice of religion as people can recall the happening mentioned in the Bible. The poem's concern with sheep and shepherd is with the pastoral tradition which defines its relationship with the society and royalty. Ironically, it defines the culture of innocence which is being threatened by the society.
