The Theoretical Approach to Management

Introduction

Different people have various emotions and feelings that are mostly influenced by their experiences. One can help people in exploring certain emotions and feelings by suggesting them alternative ways of performing things, by offering them their respect, empathy and time, by understanding the individual's perspective and listening them attentively. Through this, one can bring required substantial and positive changes in people's life, enable them to cope up with challenges and reduce their confusion. Each individual has its own approach of helping people and some adopt the use of theoretical models to carry out the purpose (Bryant-Jefferies, 2004). Different theoretical approaches adopted by the people are influenced by various factors, like, the nature of the person, the environment, and the interest of the helping person. Helping others can also be beneficial for the person who is helping, as by recognizing their ability to assist others increases their own positive self regard, and they may have decreased concern about their own problem, when they familiar with the problems of others.

I apply use of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in dealing with anger management or loss such as bereavement as I believe that we are shaped by the conditions, circumstances and the relationships that we have with the significant people around us as we grow up. It also understands that some of these patterns of relationships, good or bad, might be repeated in future relationships (Scrutton, 1999). I explore people's history in order to understand the influences from the past that have contributed to the person you are at present. I also use Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies as these two therapies are useful for providing step-by-step interventions towards personal goals of an individual. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help clients recognize the link between negative thought patterns and behavior (Palmer & Laungani, 1999). As a helping person, I help people to explore more positive coping strategies and, by working together, introduce changes that result in feeling them happy so that they can bring more in control of their ...
