Introduction

The Earth's most amazing and oldest living ecology system exist by the name of Rainforests. Rainforests cover only 6% of the surface of the Earth, and this 6% contains more than 50% of animal and plant species of the planet.

Rainforest is best portrayed as dense jungles with tall trees. The reason why a rainforest called a rainforest based on the fact, the great quantity of rainfall received by the forests every year. The rainforest has a very humid and tropical climate. It is essential for all the species of plants and animals that exist there to adjust with the climate of the rainforests (www.srl.caltech.edu).

The minimum amount of rainfall, which is 1750-2000mm (68-78 inches) annually received by the rainforests, is the most important feature of these types of forests. The intertropical junction point, which is also known as the 'monsoon channel', is an important factor in the development of the required climatic conditions important for the tropical rainforests of the Earth. In the United States, people must understand their role in the destruction of tropical forests. For example, buying certain products like mahogany, a person makes a contribution to the reduction of tropical forests in other countries. If we as Americans want to know something about the environment, we can understand what we lose when the disappearing rain forest. We can also make decisions about buying products and maintenance companies and organizations that help the rainforest.

All biotic species (around 40% to 75%) are native to these rainforests. There is a strong probability that there are still many discoveries to be made with respect to different species of microorganisms, insects and plants which can be in millions. “Jewels of the Earth” and “World's largest pharmacy” are the names given to the rainforests for the reason that most of the natural medicines are found there. More than 25% of the oxygen turnover of the world (also termed as production of oxygen) comes from the rainforests. The rainforests process oxygen through photosynthesis which comes from carbon dioxide and utilizes it through respiration.

If there is low dispersion of sunlight to the ground level, the growth of bushes hindered in many areas. This undergrowth makes it convenient to walk through the rainforests without any disturbance. The shelter provided by the leaves if destroyed will become the reason for the undergrowth of the forest comprising of small trees, shrubs, bushes and a tangled of vines. Rainforest is of two types, the temperate rainforest and the Tropical rainforest.
