ABSTRACT

Tuberculosis is amongst the list of the global burden of disease, and it is the main killer of people living with HIV, causing one quarter of all death in relation to HIV. The increasing level of TB patients in London Borough of Newham has become a burning question for the state government as common men are continuously becoming victims. Every year, the intensity of TB reports is steadily rising (Atkinson et al. 2002). In the view of the state media, the disease of TB is like a Victorian disease on the way back. Although it can be said that the number of cases of TB patients have become lesser in comparison to previous centuries, but the concerned authorities had failed to eradicate the disease completely from the region. Keeping the extreme importance of, this project aims to investigate the underlying causes of TB in London borough of Newham. The project further aims to investigate the effectiveness of TB policy in the London borough of Newham. The reason for choosing TB as the topic for this project is that, it has been highlighted in the media in recent times, about the high incidence of TB in the London borough of Brent and TB is a major public health problem. There are a number of approaches to this research, but in an effort to investigate the fact on TB; secondary research will be carried out using qualitative method.
