Introduction

This paper will present a compare and contrast perspective on major issues about teenagers. The discussion will highlight the issues they face as they transition through high school into adult hood. In doing so, the discussion will incorporate the theme of riding and driving on the road and a map that continues to change with each alternative choice. Teenagers face many difficulties through the course of their life and there are many situations in which they get confused about what they should do. For this reason, in this paper, all the situations of a teenager will be discussed with the theme of driving through the twist and turns of life. For this assignment I have used two movies: “Rebel without a Cause”, (Cameron, 1982) and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” (Irving, 1955).

What are values of a teenager?

Children need guidance in academics; in addition to the education of values of civil society-values like loving your neighbor, earning money through honest work, always saying the truth, respecting others, respecting their property, respecting their opinions and taking responsibility for your decisions (Cameron, 1982). In word and deed, parents play a vital role in helping their children to distinguish between good and bad as well as the difference between right and wrong.

Parents Responsibility

Parents are responsible for shaping the values their children eventually acquire. They should focus on their child from the beginning so they can keep them alert about the negativity existing in the world. Their essential role is to make their children as good as they can in terms of their behavior and values.

High Schools and Social Ecosystems

High schools are social ecosystems, but they should not be built on cliques and stereotypes because every teenager has his own values and personality (Cameron, 1982). So, the schools must consider teenagers enrolling from different perspectives. They should not discriminate between teenagers belonging to different societies and cultures. These social ecosystems influence our self-perceptions, motivations, decisions, friends, and actions. These ecosystems are capable of posing such an influence as there is discrimination present within the social ecosystems.

Teenagers confused about their future

It is common to find that teenagers are confused about their lives. They choose not to take help from their adults and the reliance on individuals with similar mental capacities causes the confusion to spiral higher. Teenagers ...
