Introduction

There is no doubt that the phenomenon of crime and the offense is one of the most dangerous social phenomena that threaten the human race in its security and stability, and even his life. Crime is a complex socio-legal phenomenon, whereby it is studied by different scientists exploring some of its side. Study of crime helps to understand the nature of the crime, where the results of his research to help community leaders and law enforcement officials in their efforts to prevent crime. Crime refers to a set of acts that are carried out against the laws which are normally implemented and generally accepted by the entire society overall (Lawrence, 2005). Crime is a core set of behaviors such as killings (murders and manslaughters), inflicting significant injuries (various kinds of assaults), forcible or abusive sexual relations (rape), stealing (theft or larceny, and if by force or threat of force, robbery), serious cheating (fraud), entering the property with bad motive (burglary). It occurs everywhere and is counted as a serious crime.

United States is considered as the most developed country and a place where richest peoples of the world lives and manages their business all over the world. Due to this economic importance of United States a large amount of crime rate is present in this region. The reports available on a website, which is related to crimes conducted in the world says that there are 63,531,202 crimes conducted in world out of which 11,877,218 conducted in America only (Crime in the United States 2010). This shows that a large percentage of crime is conducted only in the United States. During the late 1920s, leaders U.S. police saw a need for reliable data on crime that would help identify crime rate fluctuations national, state and local. This led to the creation of the program Uniform Crime Report. The Uniform Crime Reports details the number, the location and types of crimes reported in the United States each year. The FBI began compiling reports in 1930, gather information enforcement agencies of local law. There are three reports in the series. The first discusses the overall crime rate, while other hate crimes target and crimes against the law enforcement officers. In this paper we are going to conduct an analysis on crime by comparing Florida's crime statistics with crime statistics in United States. We shall be taking Florida's five consecutive year data focusing on two crime index offenses (1. violent crime-Forcible rape, murder and non-negligent homicide, aggravated assault, and robbery. 2. Property Crime- motor vehicle theft, Larceny, Burglary, arson, and Larceny/theft). The data shall be obtained from Uniform Crime Report or UCR (www.fbi.gov/about-us).
