Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “vocational training” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “impact of vocational training” and its relation with “increase in employment in Putu district of Liberia”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “vocational training” and tries to gauge its effect on “employment”.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Research Background

In our age of discontinuity, professional development is of particular importance and becomes an indispensable condition for success of any organization. Given the specifics of the market, featuring the quick and frequent changes, both external terms of business and domestic, it can be stated that the development of vocational training system in the organization, not only determines the success of its development, and but also the survival. The accelerated development of science and technology and rapid obsolescence, professional knowledge and skills are not the only factors determining the highly increased role of training, but it also helps in meeting the tougher requirements of the market. The market is ready to digest before anything has become very fussy (Williamson, 2009). Increased in selectivity of the final consumer and selectivity of an intermediary describes, a network of dealers, distributors, retail. In such circumstances, intuitive management does not work anymore, and now is not enough simply to be charming and attractive; we must now own technology in management, trade marketing and sales. For having skilled a trained labor which can compete with the markets, Putu District of Liberia is focusing on providing vocational training to the people.

1.2 Purpose of the study

The research has been conducted in order to spread awareness of the importance of vocational training and to analyze the extent to which vocational training is playing its part in the employment of disabled people.

1.3 Research Question

The study will analyze how vocational training helps in increasing the rate of employment for less skilled and less educated people in Putu District of Liberia.
