It is mentioned in the post that focus on the quality of patient care has been improved over time due to the standards defined by the CMS and TJC. The hospitals, which will perform exceptionally in terms of providing patient care will be rewarded as per the quality care which had been provided. The events, which happen in the hospital and beyond the control of the management, will be reimbursed however, events, which can be avoided, will not be reimbursed such as hospital-acquired infections, pressure ulcers and other events.
