Introduction

Earlier the eras were divided in three prime categories, dark ages, medieval period and modernism; however, the generations of the slightly old, current and future generations will be introduced to yet other divisions of the eras, pertaining to varying aspects, and these new eras are pre 9/11 and post 9/11. The horrendous and atrocious attack of 9/11 has not only altered the circumstances for the American nations only, but also the entire world. It will not be inaccurate to eloquently articulate the fact that it is not only America that has paid the price of that terrorist attack, but numerous parts of the world are still paying the price, in form of America's vengeance, and the war on terrorism is an integral part of that price and vengeance.

For a naive mind, the first term or name that arises after listening to the term war on terror is al-Qaida. It is not a secret that primarily the war on terror was executed initially to curb and restrict the ever increasing threats, as well as destructive potential of this terrorist organization. In a literal sense, the term war on terror denotes the organized, devised and well structured military campaign that had been formulated and initiated by the US, as well as England, with the incessant collaboration and assistance from the NATO and other non NATO countries. As mentioned earlier, that this war was waged against the Islamic military organizations, primarily al Qaida and other relative organization, which posed a real and direct threat to the security and national integrity of America, UK and other western powers.

Background of War on Terrorism

The prime background of war of terror can easily be tracked back to the terrorist attack on the US nation on 9/11. For the terrorists, 9/11 did not end their wrath and vengeance against the western world; incessantly, these terrorist organizations persisted over threatening the sovereignty and the national security of the western countries, primarily America's. Hence, initially started off form the Bush administration, other counties anticipated in the combat to make the western region safe from these trivial, yet potential threats, and the pivotal solution rendered by the Bush administration was to be proactive rather than being defensive, and merely waiting to defend the detriments that can be render by the militant organizations, and hence complying to the notion of the proactive approach to disrupt the system and well organized and established network of the extremist military organization, the war on terror embarked the eastern regions with aggression, and even hostility.

Initially the key objective was to be equipped for tracking down the militants, where ever they are, and assimilating their plans and missions for disrupting safety and security of America, UK and other countries. However, no matter how advanced and military advanced America was, self sufficiency would not have guaranteed successful execution and triumph in this endeavor.
