Introduction

The war against terrorism is still continued and it has made its serious impact on the society of America as well as other countries all across the world. The United States is going through the 3rd year of the global war against violence and terrorism. This war against terrorism started like a clash against an organization which carried out the terrible and monstrous attack of September 11, 2001 (Reese & Lewis, 2009). However, this organization turned to become more determined organization soon and invaded and occupied the Iraq. Being a participant in the war on terrorism, the US has committed to eliminate the terrorism from the world which is the means of fighting and bloodshed. It also committed transform Iraq into an affluent self-ruled beacon for remaining of the economically stagnant and autocratically ruled Middle East to follow. This paper intends to discuss related to the history and impact of war on terrorism (Reese & Lewis, 2009).

Discussion

Since the terrible and horrible incident of September 11, 2001, terrorism attacks on the United States as well as other countries are increasing. The terrorism all across the globe has increased and it has made severe unfavorable impacts on the economy and society of the entire globe (Reese & Lewis, 2009). After the terrorism attacks of al-Qaeda on the United States of America, the government of United States announced a GWOT i.e. global war on terrorism. The parameters and nature of this war against terrorism have remained annoyingly ambiguous. The administration has assumed an array of enemies including weapons of mass destruction, rogue states, terrorism organizations of national, regional and global scope (Reese & Lewis, 2009).

Impact of Terrorism on the Economy of United States

Terrorism is referred to as the planned and deliberated use of violence or threat of using violence by sub-national groups or individuals in order to obtain a social and political goal with the help of intimidation of huge spectators. Terrorist's attacks have a wide range of means for committing terrorism (Jackson, 2008). Terrorists attack any country in several different forms such as kidnappings, airplane hijackings, threats, assassinations, suicide attacks and bombings. These terrorism attacks are increasing and becoming uncontrollable all across the world. Thus, in order to prevent the society and world from terrorist's attacks; the government of United States announced the war on terrorism (Jackson, 2008).

These terrorist's attacks are applying adequate and considerable pressures on the government in order that it allows and gives political concessions. The economy of the United States and the entire world is being threatened due to the ever increasing attacks of terrorists. The terrorism attack of 9/11 on the United States had made its great impact on the stock market and economic growth of the United States (Jackson, 2008).
