Introduction

Technological development has brought several changes and innovations in the lives of people. It is due to the reason that, technological development has allowed people to bring convenience and ease in their lives, by offering various innovative ways of performing their tasks (Kukulska-Hulme & Shield, 2008). Recent researches and studies demonstrate that, technology has also played a vital role in enhancing and improving the ways of learning and teaching. It is because of the reason that, these technological advancements has presented various web 2 tools. These tools offer various advanced and innovative ways of teaching and learning to the teachers as well as to the students. Some of the most advanced and innovative web 2 tools may include CALL (computer assisted language learning) and MALL (mobile assisted language learning). Recent researches and studies demonstrate that, these tools play an efficient and prominent role in the learning of students (Olson & Wisher, 2002). The proceeding paper incorporates the basic concept of web 2 tools. In addition to this, the paper also discusses some of the web 2 tools, i.e., CALL and MALL. Furthermore, the role of these tools in learning and teaching practices is also incorporated in the proceeding paper.

Discussion

In the current era, the utilization of technology in the learning and teaching environments is considered as the most significant aspect which has gained considerable attention. It is because of the reason that, the utilization of technology in these areas may increase and enhance the effectiveness of the teaching and learning practices (Kukulska-Hulme & Shield, 2008). Recent researches and studies demonstrates that, the students who had benefited from web 2 tools or technologies had considerably better and improved performance as compared to other students (Offra, 2013). The main concept of web 2 tools is discussed in the proceeding discussion.
