Introduction

W. E. B. Du bois criticized Booker T Washington who has adopted a strong approach to get equality for Negroes in society on urgent basis. Even though his purpose was positive yet he was unsuccessful to anticipate the success in plan of Washington that could have helped the Negroes to gain equality on a permanent basis.

Thesis

The thesis of the statement of W. E. B. Du Bois is based on the misunderstanding about the real intentions of Booker T Washington. His statements were mostly found to be on personal speculations that became the victim of criticism, which was not considered to be right. Though, the outlined points are with the presence of justification (Gaglo, p.240. It was the outcome of following a strong and broad approach to assist Black community. When the more open and direct approach was followed towards solving the American and African community was done, then these results were achieved. What these points did that they derived the attention of the people and more rigorous approach was taken when following the American problems. The issue of the racial segregation which was happening for a long period of time did had its implications as most people find the assumptions rather misleading. Due to that, the demands that were put forwards by Dubois were rather pre mature.

One of the firs thing that was done by the Dubois was that Washington accommodation program asked some of the black people to give up their powers. They must also demand for higher civil rights and at the same time, they must also demand higher education. The basic mistake was that it somewhat narrowed down the options for the Black Americans. At the same time, it also ignored some of the political, social and civil injustices that were pointed towards them

One of the basic disagreements that was seen that despite their obvious disagreements, they had a common idea and objective that both of them wanted to pursue. The main rationale was that they must obtain the first class citizenship that is needed to be done for the blacks. But the most evident failure that was seen in these implications was that Washington seemed to have included have more or less kept the whites and at the same time, it also opposed the blacks.
