Thesis Statement: "There are two big lies the educational technology industry tells," says Reeves. "One, you can replace the teacher. Two, you'll save money in the process. Neither is borne out." (Hiltzik, 2012 .pp.1-2).
In this world of technology, changes are emerging day by day and all these changes are assuring continuous enhancement and progression. This technological advancement should influence the learning of students. There are a number of education reformers who are now looking forward to utilize technology in order to solve a few concerns faced by public schools. They are also expecting that the learning of students will be improved with this implementation. It was stated by U.S. FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and Education Secretary Arne Duncan that it is necessary for every student to have a laptop in the class room. In the upcoming days textbooks will be completely wiped off from the class rooms (Hiltzik, 2012.pp.1-2).
There can also be the some political pressure for utilizing this technology in class room from high-tech companies that, as it is also investigated that these firms use partial loot they are producing in order to finance state-based political frontage groups, employs and hire lobbyists as their public government. The result is a strengthened political framework that forces local school boards and state legislatures for diverting money away from established education tools (text books, teaching staff, etc.) and into hazardous technology procurement. The prominent supporter who is promoting the implementation of electronic devices and e-books by replacing textbooks today is Apple, which observed to be announcing at a media event that they are dreaming of a world that has every student reading his textbooks on a Mac or on an iPad. Implementation of technology in form of Apple products in the class room seems to be very expensive text books are much cheaper and affordable by every student as compare to the text books. Those costs might be justified when a new device is a sure bet to enhance education and learning procedure. But if the school goes on risk by utilizing computer technology as an academic solution then in such a case it is similar to a blind gamble and one that is shown by the evidence is scarcely safe.
