With the growing focus on increasing the overall organizational productivity and the innovative perspective, the role of the traditional employee has been significantly enhanced. The job description of the contemporary employee now consist more wide and quantitative functions, which will allow the organization to be produce innovative products and services, for the global customer base. The role of the modern employee is performance and objective base; where his contribution in achieving a specific goal or team task, will have a direct influence on his incentive or remuneration package.

These trends in the modern business environment, although have increased the overall productivity of the industry have caused several stress related dilemmas for the employees (Stern, 2012). It is the task of the HR department of the organization to ensure that the employees are functioning in a healthy work environment, and their work related activities do not have negative repercussions on their health. The primary function of the HR department is not only to hire the best talent available; but also to ensure that the labor force is operating on their optimal productivity levels. The employees, who are able to maintain a healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes, are in the long-term more capable to achieve the organizational goals.

The increase in the job requirements and the responsibilities of the organization has increased the stress related dilemmas among this labor force of the contemporary organizations. The employees are prepared to work longer hours and take on more challenging tasks, in order to enhance their performance levels and advance in the organizational hierarchy.
