For some unknown cause, almost all of the pointers from the mind to the body and vice-versa traverse over on their way to and from the brain. This means that the right cerebral hemisphere primarily controls the left edge of the body and the left hemisphere primarily controls the right side. When one edge of the mind is damaged, the opposite edge of the body is affected. For demonstration, a stroke in the right hemisphere of the mind can depart the left arm and leg paralyzed.
