Left Brain vs. the Right Brain

Left Brain vs. the Right Brain

Human Brain

The human brain has two hemispheres, united by the corpus callosum, which are related to very diverse areas of activity and work in a very different, but complementary. Arguably, each hemisphere, in a sense, perceive their own reality, or perhaps we should say that perceives reality in its own way. Both modes use high-level cognition. Our brains are double, and each half has its own form of knowledge, how they perceive the external reality, we might even venture to say that they have their own personality, both of mitadas complementary to each other (Hines, 1987).

We could say, in a way that each of us has two minds connected and integrated by the cable of nerve fibers connecting the two hemispheres. No hemisphere is more important than the other. To perform any task we need to use both hemispheres, especially if it is a complicated task. What is sought is always balance. The balance is a result of reconciling polarities, not by trying to eliminate one of them. Each cerebral hemisphere has a way of processing the information it receives. The left hemisphere analyzes over time, while the right summarizes in space.

Left Hemisphere

The left hemispheres processes information analytically and sequentially, steps by step, logical and linear. The left hemisphere analyzes, abstracts, counts, measures the time, plans step by step procedures, verbalizes, thinks in words and numbers, ie contains the ability for mathematics and reading and writing (Ross, 2008).

The verbal perception and generation of knowledge depend on the order or sequence in which sounds are produced. Check the weather and course. It is guided by linear logic and binary (yes-no, up-down, before and after, plus-minus, 1,2,3,4 etc.). This hemisphere employs a convergent thinking style, gaining new information by using data already available, creating new ideas or conventionally acceptable data. It learns from part to whole and rapidly absorb the details, facts and rules. Left Hemisphere analyses information step by step and want to understand the components one by one.

Right Hemisphere

The right hemisphere, on the other hand, seems to specialize in global awareness; synthesizing the information that reaches it. With Right Hemisphere we see things in space, and how to combine the parts into the whole. Thanks to the right hemisphere, we understand the metaphors, we dream, we create new combinations of ideas.
