The Ever Changing Nature of the English Language

Introduction

It is a well known fact that all the phenomenon and concepts, including the things and even human nature is ever evolving and changing with the passage of time. Nothing is constant in this world, and all the cultures, civilizations, norms, values and languages have been changing over time in order to cope with the latest challenges and to meet the demands of the modern times. It has been observed that failing to change causes the culture/ language to become stagnant; it fails to meet the need of modern times and thus loses its integrity and value, ultimately going in oblivion and gaining the status of a dead language.

A number of languages are not living anymore, not because the people who used to speak them are not living, but because they did not evolve with the passage of time. Thus, more words did not get inculcated in them, and there came a point where they became unfit to be spoken, and as the language did not have terms to describe certain new phenomenon and facts. As the language failed to add new terms and terminologies, the terms from other languages got inculcated in them and finally they lost their integrity and individuality.

In addition, the living languages of the world have the ability to change and show flexibility for the new phenomenon and terms, so that the speakers of the languages do not have to refer to other languages for the expression of their feelings and sentiments. In addition, these additions and changes allow the amalgamation of modern term and science and technology related words in the language, which makes it easier for users to study these subjects in their own language instead of going for some other language.
