Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to develop a community health program for educating the community women over a 6-week period about the issue that how important is prenatal care and guide them about the local resource availability in order to guide them about the care receiving.

Health Care Program Description

The main purpose of this health care program is to educate the pregnant women of the community about the importance of prenatal care and give them proper guidance about the availability of local resources and tell them that how they can receive the care.

Duration of the Program

This program is designed for the community pregnant women, and its duration is the 6-week period.

1- Assessment

Assess the health, health care, and preparedness needs of a population

The main audience of this community health care program is community pregnant women. This program would be beneficial for the pregnant women of the community in order to make them aware about the prenatal care. This would also help the married women who are not pregnant yet so that they can be aware of it in advance (Gagnon 2007). The families of the pregnant women can also benefit from this program as they are the main people providing them the prenatal care.

Describe socio-political, economic, and ethnic characteristics affecting the health of the community

There are different characters that affect the health of the specified community. The main factors affecting people's health are socio-political, economic and ethnic characteristics. There are different socio-political issues affecting the community health. These factors are mainly the social gradient, stress, social exclusion, unemployment, political instability, food and transport etc. In order to remove the socio-political cultural issues the community should try to remove extreme poverty and hunger, should adopt different measures to lessen the child mortality, develop different programs to work for it (Haffner 1995).

The economic characteristics that affect the health of the community are the unemployment, illiteracy, poverty and income inequality and division in income. There are also some ethnic problems affecting the community health, like the gender inequality. It is seen that in the community, women are not given proper respect and care. This is the reason that they do not get the proper care.

Describe the nature, of values and value systems in the community, and their influence on community health nursing

Values of a community are the key factors that have influence on community health nursing. The community has the value that women are not given much care and treatment when they are pregnant. The health care in any community mainly focuses on its values system.

Describe the effects of hazards in the community on people's health

Community hazards also play an important role in a community people's health. These hazards might be earth quake, flood or rain. Because of these hazards, a community might be affected in such a way that these hazards brings so many diseases with them like malaria, TB, flu and other viruses.
