History and Core Business

Borders Group, in English Borders Group is an international chain of bookstores based in Ann Arbor, in Michigan in the United States. Borders group includes high ranking in the ranking of Fortune 500 and is the second largest U.S. bookseller after Barnes & Noble. Borders sell books, CDs, videos, and newspapers (Brandt 2011). In 2007, the group had over 500 stores in the U.S. Borders was in 1971 by Tom and Louis Borders in Ann Arbor, Michigan was founded. The company had branches in England, Australia and Singapore. In the online business, Borders has temporarily closely with Amazon.com worked (Marcus 2004).
