Houston Grand Opera's Concert of Arias

The Houston Grand Opera held its 22nd annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers. Some 500 singers auditioned and were rigorously scrutinized until only nine singers remained to sing at the Concert of Arias. The singers compete for cash prizes plus a spot in the prestigious HGO Studio.

The evening began with an introduction by HGO's General Director Anthony Freud announcing the evening's guest judges-Music Director Patrick Summers and American composer Carlisle Floyd.
