DRUG FOR REDUCING APPETITE

Drug for Reducing Appetite

ABSTRACT

In this study, I developed a new drug “Dexamphetamine-XXX” for reducing appetite. The main focus of the paper is to give methodology, sample, my target population, validity and reliability of this research. I also justified my research with fact and figures that based on evidence.

Drug for Reducing Appetite

Introduction

I just have developed a drug for reducing the appetite. I want to introduce drug with the name of Dexamphetamine-XXX, the reason behind this name is that the drug has some qualities of the Dexamphetamine Sulphate (Keller, 2008). All phases of dexamphetamine-XXX drug research are conducted under the parameters of the GCP - Good Clinical Practice (GCP). These are a series of procedures or rules designed to prevent errors and fraud and to confirm that clinical research subjects kept intact their rights within it. The drug is justified under ethical, scientific reviews, economic reasons and its consequences (Klein, 1998). Yet, in spite of such widespread use of these drugs, particularly in the treatment of obesity, there is little controlled observation to support the commonly accepted view that they consistently and effectively reduce hunger and appetite (May, 2009).

The effectiveness of dexamphetamine-XXX in the treatment of obesity depended on a reduction in food intake. A group of seven obese patients lost more weight when taking dexamphetamine-XXX than when taking placebo. This difference in weight loss was closely paralleled by an equivalent difference in calorie intake (Klein, 1998). There would appear to be some inconsistency among the published reports concerning the efficacy of dexamphetamine-XXX as anorexigenic compounds when used in clinical dosage. Some authors have claimed that these drugs are potent suppressants of hunger, while others have failed to find any such effect. The present study was undertaken in an attempt to resolve this controversy.

Techniques used in the investigation

The assessment of subjective sensations such as hunger is greatly facilitated by quantitative estimations of the degree to which the sensation is experienced. In the present investigation, a linear rating scale was used to provide such a quantitative estimate of the change in hunger experience over a given time, and of the effect of dexamphetamine-XXX on this (Brophy, Ferguson & Webber, 2010).

Methods

The methodology that I have used in this research proposal is based on both, primary and secondary researches. In primary research, I selected some people for controlled experiments and methods to check the validity of dexamphetamine-XXX for reducing appetite patients. Whereas, for secondary research, I used the available data for this systematic literature review was taken primarily from Pro Quest (Management, and Human Resource Management), EBSCO Host and Science Direct databases for a period of time from 2002 to 2010. The papers were thoroughly studied, and an extensive search was undertaken for the given topic. Relevant articles were also obtained from the UEL library which provided further insights into the topic.
