Introduction

Learning and development are the concepts that are always attached with the human being. There are various theories and concepts that have been put forwarded by many theorists and philosophers. This paper presents arguments related to the factors of cognitivism and behaviourism. Children remain in a continuous process of learning. As they grow, their world expands. They begin to expand their experience from home and parents to the siblings and they also get the experience to see and observe people and places to visit. To live actively in society, children must learn to know themselves, to achieve their own identity. The importance of the influence of family and family relations on the formation and development of the child's personality plays a very crucial part. In order to assist the child to reach their full potential, it is important to understand the development of a normal child. The successful cognitive, physical and emotional development in children is also related to the development of other children and adults around them. Due to any reason when children develop some wrong behavior or attitude then there is requirement to alter their behavior. In order to alter the behavior of the children various ways and therapies are used. This paper is aimed to talk about one of the developmental aspects of the child behavior. The aim and objective of this paper is to talk how cognitive behavior therapy can be effective in modifying the behavior of children.

Literature Review

Behaviorism and cognitivism have many unique features. It is our belief that each still describes the same phenomenon. According to the conceptions of cognitivism, the outcome is changes in knowledge. Cognitivism talks about the alteration and shifts in the level of knowledge, on the other hand, the conceptions of behaviorism talks about the changes and alteration in the responses of an individual as a result of learning (Abram, 1989). So, this clearly points out that with the help of changing or alter the level of knowledge which is the main conception of the cognitivism one can alter the behavior

Early education is the base of child development as children learn during this time. Children at the kindergarten level learn from shapes and spellings. This helps in enhancing their cognitive skills and makes them mentally sharp. Similarly, early education should include all the components of child development. A child should be taught the basic rules of life which are necessary for life (Baumrind, 2008). This comes from home as well as teachers also take part in developing the children by activities which help in cognitive development which n turn affect the behavior of the child.
