Introduction

It is one of the major concerns to maintain the public health with the help of various intervention models and other considerations that are required in the field of public health. This requires the need for the new models of intervention that assists prevention. These models are associated with the scientific methodology and means of testing. Family intervention always plays a major role in the intervention (Berlin, et.al,2005, p. 331-332). It is the most important concern to provide the better means of counseling for the client. Family focused intervention is considered as the best means for the counseling and their cooperation is always consider as the best support. In this type of intervention each family member is involved in resolving the issue. This type of intervention strategy is used by the psychotherapists, social workers, behavioral therapists, and substance abuse counselors. The family intervention is usually practiced to resolve the issues associated with the drug abused problem, mental illness and different other social and psychological matters.

Discussion

There are different scientific methods that are used to test the effectiveness of the family focused intervention. Institute of Medicine (U.S.). Committee on Health and Behavior (2001) provide different models for testing the family interventions in treatment of individuals in management of the chronic diseases. These models are also applicable in the treatment of the drug abuses and other psychological issues as it deals with the models of behavioral changes and different other family intervention testing methods.

Scientific Methods Used In Testing Effectiveness of Family Focused Interventions

Family focused interventions provide assistance in the process of the better counseling of the client. Family interventions are considered as the important factor in most of the cases. This is the main reason that the therapists consider it as an essential concern to suggest the family interventions for the process of treatment and counseling. This is also important that these family interventions must be result oriented and the assistance provided by these family members must be focused and relevant according to the task. This requires that there must be proper methods to assess and evaluate these family interventions. Counseling and interventions are a scientific process that is why it requires scientific methods to test the effectiveness of these family focused interventions. The first stage of intervention is testing.
