General Elections in Nigeria

Introduction

Year 2010 has come and gone, but memories of 2010 still remains in the minds of many Nigerians. The 2011 election year depicts the future of all Nigerians. This year, which will determine the fate of Nigerians and the state of their country? Also in 2011, promises to be an exciting year for the Nigerians, too, because this year will certainly be Nigeria's way from one democratic government to another. The power to change any government is actually through votes.

Democracy is called consolidated when all parties and individuals to freely in a competitive and transparent environment, where actors are guided by the rule of law, justice and respect for individual and group rights.

In political systems that approximate the ideal of democracy, voting and elections are significant. Election made some people in power, and rejected the claims of others. Elections are more typically retrospective judgments, about human behaviour and the party in power. Those who gave a satisfaction confirmed in office, those who are responsible for the poor performance of the economy dismissed from their positions. (Ajakaiye, 2000, 149-151)

Muslim group cooperation held in the city of Yiwu, Nigeria, a national Islamic conference on the need for Muslims to density in the elections next year (2011 AD), which began their campaigns two months ago, were soon, and the conference was held at the National Hall of the palace of the king city .

The reason for the conference is the attempts by President Nigerian Christian Good Luck Jonathan Trchik for himself in the upcoming presidential election and who met the refusal of the majority of the Nigerian people, considering the North's political and Islamic organizations and trying to have a serious blueprint for transforming the country to Christianity.
