Geographical distribution of Google Services - a general overview of that should be provided.

This Figure represents the percentage usage of different types of services being offered by Google around the woorld. Looking at this figure, it can be said that on a geographical basis, the services of Google are well and truly spread around the world. Being the number one search engine, Google is used by all, including, children and adults around the world, for different kind of purposes, which include things like, educational purposes, work related tasks, research work, etc. Moreover, due to the vast majority of services being offered by Google, along with the high usage of its services by the customers, it becomes essential for Google to have a huge number of servers, in order for them to be able to cope with the amount of requests being generated from around the world. For this purpose, Google has set its offices in different locations around the world, along with setting up the huge number of servers in these locations.

R&D Budget for Google & its competitors

There are numerous organizations in this world that decide to perform research and development (R & D) related activities. This may become the cause of enhancement in the already existing old products or processes, or be the cause of new and innovative products or processes. R & D is one way of being able to achieve growth and sustainability. Moreover, R & D is highly associated with highly technological organizations (Lenssen, Philip, 2007, p. n.d). This is so because of very fact that such high tech organizations are always working towards being innovative and bringing about new innovations for the people living in this world. Most of the leading organizations present in the market reinvest a percentage of their revenues in Research and Development, because they are of the view that, this investment will help them in achieving growth in the longer period. However, during times of crisis, some organizations prefer to reduce spending on the development of innovative products. This might provide relief for a shorter period for the organization, but that leads towards more problems in the longer period. It can be said that during times of crisis, saving some money, by reducing the costs of the Research and Development activities, might seem to be the appropriate strategy. When the economy goes through a recession, it may seem like a good decision to save some money by reducing R & D. However, after a downturn in the economy is a recovery of the same and this is the boom time where organizations are prepared to introduce new and innovative products and services. Moreover, an organization with a program of investment in R & D is generally perceived as a company bent on sustainable growth.
