Introduction

Human Resource is the most important asset for any company. Losing the human resource has a cost associated with it (Greenhaus, 1995). Hence, it is important for the company to retain the best talent. Savannah Engineering, Inspection, and Insurance Company (SEIIC) is faced with the challenge of employee turnover. The company relies heavily on the knowledge and skills of its employees for its success. Without its human capital, the company has little to offer its customers. For this, the management is seeking to make certain changes in the human resource functions as they exist in the company. The company conducted an organization wide survey to find out where it needs to work. Based on the survey findings, the company will be devising certain strategies for training, performance management and career management to begin with (Stockley, 2008).

Training

Training is an essential function of Human resource. , SEIIC has been experiencing difficulty in meeting customer service expectations. This means that there is something lacking in the employees that the company needs to cater to. Hence, the company decided to revamp and activate its training division of the human resource department (Blanchard, 1997).

The company realized that the employees feel that to keep themselves updated and competitive, they should be trained on a periodic basis. The latest trends and advancements in the industry are crucial for employees to understand and implement in their work to perform at par with the other companies operating in the industry.
