Introduction

Since the start of the twenty first century, reality TV shows have taken over the TV screens with growing popularity. Their seasons continue to get aired its common to see people of different demographics to follow different record breaking shows such as Jersey Shore, American Idol, Big Brother, Real Housewives etc. with the growing popularity of such shows, the concern of people is also growing about how they are affecting the audience. It is true that these shows do have negative impact on the audience and that; this negative impact is doing more harm to the viewers than giving them actual enjoyment. One of these most damaging shows is the Jersey shore which is mostly watched by teenagers and youngsters has negative effects on their minds.

Discussion

The reality TV series on MTV by the name of Jersey Shores is about eight youngsters from New Jersey who passed their time by tanning, slaughtering the English language, getting drunk, working out, clubbing, eating greedily and engaging in unprotected sex with a number of different partners. Most people are concerned because of the affect that the show has over many teens. From one perspective, it tells us about the glamorous lives of its characters that waste their time with lust, gluttony and materialism and any lethal sin that anyone could think of. But from another perspective, it makes fun of the characters for their persistent foolishness and egocentrism. But majority of the show presents them as pleasure seeking and self indulgent individuals which at times, gets very terrifying.

The biggest concern regarding the show's influence is the immoral and promiscuous sex with different partners that takes place after a night of clubbing and overindulging in drinks. Their house even has a special room by the name of 'smush room' which is the extra bedroom ...
