Karl Marx and Social Conflict

Introduction

Karl Marx is one of the influential and spectacular social philosopher of the 19th century, an undeniable founder of modern communal sciences. Whilst Karl Marx was considered as a vague individual in his own era, his ideologies and ideas started to exert a great influence on the movements of workers after his death. This influence gained added impetus with the victory of the Bolsheviks in the Russian October Revolution in 1917, and few parts of the world remained significantly untouched by Marxian ideas in the course of the twentieth century.

Karl Marx's Idea of Classes

Marx's definition of class and stratification was based substantially on one which is divided into two basic classes of society. First class was the bourgeoisie known as the capitalists (owners of means of production and land owners), and the other class was that of the proletariat (working class). The class membership of an individual to the ruling class (bourgeoisie) thus arises in any social order through private ownership of means of production and the ownership of land, land and financial assets. The class that is consistent with the ruling in a persistent conflict, Marx calls this the class struggle, the proletariat. Are, the owners of mere labor force, the owners of capital and the landowners, their sources of income, respectively, wages, profit and rent, are the major classes of the capitalist mode of production based on the company (Somerville & Santoni 1963, 64).”

The Marx very well about the existence of over-and sub-classes within a social structure in the picture was also analyzed, and conflicts within the individual classes, is clear when one considers his complete works. In the vast majority of his scientific work, Marx dealt with the stratification and social classes. Marx called transition classes, for example, the existences of groups that have emerged from an earlier system, and long after the collapse of the system continue, as now, about the farm workers and farmers.

Marx's emphasis in terms of social structure is a consideration but now once in the class struggle within and between classes. The middle class, the small manufacturer, the shopkeeper, the artisan, the peasant, fight them the entire bourgeoisie, to save from extinction their existence as a middle class from extinction. Unlike for Weber understands Marx industrial society structures as transitional forms which are reorganized radically in the future (Avineri 1970, 36).

Economics

Marx forwarded his theory on the basis of the production and proved that, in capitalism, the conflict is between the capitalist and the wager who produces the goods. Marx focused on money accumulation through production instead of the amount of money through production.

Marx stated his views regarding the class that members of a society must share long-term economic goals with respect to ownership or non-ownership of the resources of production. Marxism elaborates the class war between the owners and the workers (Avineri 1970, 36).
