Leader as a coach Assignment

Question 1

A leader is someone who inspires, who makes decisions affecting the company in a positive way and can assemble a team and get to work mixed with a common goal. Charisma is a quality that is often confused with the fundamental requirement for leadership. I have a number of qualities which could influence people to be led by me. I have the ability to set goals that lead the company in a particular direction. I have the ability of working with an open mind, dedication and far-sightedness to look into future to set goals and to help the company to develop in the right direction.

As a leader I am able to speak and write - simply, clearly and persuasively. Also, I am able to listen and process information carefully. There are moments where the decision may represent a risk because the available information leading to a particular choice is incomplete. In such situations, it is easy for me to recognize what is not profitable and quickly adjust to meet the needs of the business and my team.

In my opinion a leader inspires trust, not through consensus but by being clear and constant in its main lines. I have the quality that demonstrates some form of regularity, reliability and determination. I concentrate on creating an atmosphere that will meet the needs of my team. I have the ability to create a dynamic workplace, where people can channel their energy to ensure the success of its actions individually. For me it is easy to take into account the resources and energy available. It also helps my team to define and achieve common goals. I understand that each person has different motivations and that, in different situations.

People who are led by me can feel that I have confidence in them and that each member of my team is important, unique and respected for what he or she has achieved. This helps in promoting greater participation and also allows everyone to flourish and benefit from the team work.

The lessons learned during the coaching sessions, and through the evaluations were unethical planning of potential leaders, which lead them to failure. I tried to make them learn the significance of planning before every task you are going to accomplish. Before a training session, I have always made an outline, as discussed before, to present the objectives that are aimed to be achieved through the learning or training sessions. Therefore, it is essential to plan before I can proceed to work because it always allows understanding the barriers that can come in my way (Buckingham, pp. 36-45).
