In Moore's outstanding first novel "Alligator" begins with a series of closely related, focused chapters, as the novel progresses, the relationship between characters and events to tighten. Collin, the Newfoundland adolescents who have grown up quickly after the death of her beloved stepfather, was convicted of ecovandalism. Instead of holding the necessary public works, she flees to Louisiana to meet Loyola, the alligator best man at one of her aunt Madeleine films. Meanwhile, Madeleine is racing to finish his film even more, knowing it would soon die. Beverly, Colleen mother and sister Madeleine, trying to cope with the death of her husband and to understand the changes in her daughter.
