Macintyre (born 1929) a Scottish philosopher, best known for his contribution to moral and political philosophy, but also for his work on philosophy and theology. Senior research fellow at the Center for Contemporary Studies in Ethics and Politics of Aristotle, London Metropolitan University and Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. Macintyre approach to moral philosophy to the number of species reported as multifaceted (Macintyre, 2006, 226).
