Charles F. Kettering once said, "My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there." I am relating this quote to myself because I am already planning ahead for what has yet to come. A future with a career I love. Discovering my strengths and my weaknesses will help me further understand who I am. Finding these characteristics will show me what I can change, or improve about myself to make me a better magnet student. My greatest strength is Determination. I see this in myself when I make decisions that will affect my life. Being determined has made me very goal oriented, always driven with a mission. Deciding I wanted to achieve great success, I took up the challenge since an early age to keep my grades at a high standard to prove my determination.

People in advanced classes also have goals and this makes it easier to relate and learn with them. My determination comes in when I think about my future. I have to be determined, so I can eventually do something I love. Three years ago my family bought me my first horse, and my eyes opened widely to the world of horses. I was determined to ride and become a good rider, and this developed into my new passion. After visits from the Veterinarian who looked after my horse, I realized how fascinated I had become with the body of the horse and how it worked. I started memorizing the body parts and names of the bones in the horse. I then realized how determined I had become, and that my new goal was to become an equine veterinarian.

My greatest weakness is that I am a perfectionist. I have this characteristic because I have a fear of disapproval. I sometimes tend to put off larger projects knowing it will take an extensive amount of time to make it perfect. I don't want to let anyone down, so I put a lot of effort into my work. I feel that being a perfectionist has prevented me from putting myself in a position of leadership for fear of rejection.
