MBTI Type

Introduction

The MBTI is very useful in personal development, self-knowledge, career, or team management. My MBTI type is INFP which represent Introversion, Intuition, Feeling and Perception. INTPs are rational, curious, theoretical, and abstract and prefer to organize ideas rather than people and situations. They deal their work and activities by being logical, skeptical, cognitive, distant, theoretical, reserved, precise, independent, speculative, original, autonomous and resolved. INTP bring to the organization a Design of logical-complex systems; Experts to address the complex problems; short and extensive term conceptual insights; logical, analytical and critical thinking (Kummerow and Hirsh, 2010).

The preferred environment required by an INTP is where there are independent thinkers focused on solving complex problems. They need isolation which encourages autonomy, flexibility and calmness. They require individual determination. INTPs may be too abstract and not realistic enough in monitoring activities; have a tendency to intellectualize and become too theoretical explanations; out excessively minor inconsistencies at the expense of teamwork and harmony and pointing critical thinking about the people and act impersonally.

To improve, INTP would benefit from focusing on the practical details and track; striving to put the work in more absolute terms; highlighting the contributions of other and knowing the other's point of view better as well as professional.

Organization situation

The organization situation I have chosen is team management. INFP builds relationships by giving space to others to participate fully. The characteristics of INFP include helping others, accepting and believing them. These people read between the lines and they sense what needs to be done and what is required. They develop a sense of reasoning and purpose, ethics in their team members. They help in building relationships by knowing the member's intentions and making them feel comfortable. They share the feelings, improve and build the communications and honor and accept the feelings. Similarities are encouraged and, encouragement is provided to all (Obsorn and Field, 1998).

INFPs deal with conflict by waiting first and analyzing what is involved. The INFPs prefer to go with the flow to evaluate the happenings. They work to bring all sides of issue simultaneously to resolve the root causes of the issue. They provide an environment with a sense of integrity, opportunities enhancing completeness, harmony, mental health and growth. They provide to every individual of the team member the flexibility to capitalize the energy. The individuals' value is recognized and encouraged to be expressed.

INFPs go with the flow until they have enough information to integrate and complete the large picture. The approach is to generate loads of ideas and make suggestions change the situation in their unique favor. The decisions made quickly but, actions are decided slowly. What actions would be taken and what directions would be followed is not decided quickly. Actions are chosen which comply with the values (Sample, 2002).

Artistic control is taken when the change is essential. The control complies with the values. INFP is open to change. Process includes creative inputs producing a higher quality outcome. INFPs contribute to an organization by providing a different ...
