Introduction

Success does not depend on having good education or knowledge; it rather relies on the will of a person to do something. The perception about true success varies from individual to individual. It highly depends upon what does an individual perceive to be successful. Setting a set of correct values is one of the crucial factors of achieving true success in life. In this paper we will analyze the life of Bill Gates and his approach towards success in the context of Malcolm Gladwell's book, outliers.

Discussion

The American entrepreneur is one of the most successful pioneers of computer technology. At the age of 19, he founded in 1975 with his school friend Paul Allen, the industrial empire "Microsoft Inc and created "Windows" the most successful operating system in the world. Until 2000, he was represented as the President of Microsoft, as he ascended to the richest people in the world. Bill Gates founded "Corbis" (1989) which is one of the largest image and video archives. He was also a member of the Governing Board of the investment company Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Founded in 1999; "Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation" supports a number of health projects in Third World countries and also AIDS research (Serwer, 40-43).

Gates passion was in mathematics and economics. With this interest, he found little connection with their peers, it was considered highly gifted. From his thirteenth birthday Gates attended Lakeside School, to further his talents. There he was with his school friend and future partner Paul Allen together. With the school's computer, they used "Basic" program "Traf-O-Data" for measuring traffic flows. Then they both got the job, a DEC-computer of the Computer Centre Corporation to investigate errors in the program (Serwer, 40-43).

Outliers The Story of success is a nonfiction book written by Malcolm Gladwell. In this book, Gladwell highlights the factors which contribute to high level of success. Gladwell also mentions the examples of Bill Gates as how he achieved success and wealth. Throughout his publication, Gladwell at various occasions has highlighted the 10000 Hour Rule which is the key to success for any field. A task could be performed by trying it for 10000 hours. The author has highlighted his view as contrarian as to famous people attain high levels of success. Success comes to those who are hard workers and acquire skills, knowledge by influencing from others. We must have a strong belief in order to be successful. We must also think about family, friends ones upbringing and what ones parent did to earn a living.

Without success Gates traveled from fair to fair, important orders were made. Not discouraged by the failures, Gates worked for eight years on the development of Windows up to version 3.0, which appeared in 1990th.
