Reflection on the nature of professionalism required

My chosen career direction

I still remember my mother has told me choosing a job you are desired to do; and have interests in it is very important. I'm always thinking about these words when I think about my future life. I have had the desire to be a person like my father who is my role model and runs his own business very well for a long time. The reason for, this thought is very easy. Because my father is a successful businessman, he can give whatever I want easily and give me a happy family. Just because of this, I want to be a person like him. However, my thought is changing while I'm growing up. For sure, I still want to have a job related to business, but I make my vision specially. I want to have a job related to the fashion business. I make this decision by thinking about my mother's word and combining my desire and interests. To be a businesswoman is my desire; however, I like fashion, and I want it to be a part of my whole life. Therefore, to be a fashion brand marketing director is my career goal for now and future. In order to reach this goal and make my vision come true, I need to know myself specially and have a clearly awareness, strategy and discipline (Mikulecky & Peers, 1994, pp.44-85).

These actions are aimed at achieving some goal. For example, if I want to achieve particular target it should be such that the management should take part in it. The management should be responsible for carefully listening to what the employees say. It is a source of skills such as management should watch what an employee does or think about. It should all be understood by the management so that if any questions which arrive in, employees mind should be corrected. This will help in overall improvement of the organization. I did a personality test in order to know if the career that I chose is still suitable for me. The test was based on the 6 main different vocational choices and each type relates to a type of jobs. By doing the test, the result attributed me the category “Enterprising”. By reading the description of the result, I found out that it suits me. As the test said, I'm a person who likes to be a fashion designer and to run, a business of fashion line.

What is required to be a skilled professional?

Transferable skills and Education:

Transferable skills can be defined as those skills or abilities that can be applied equally from one job to another. These are skills that graduates have met through volunteer work, sports, hobbies, community work, and can be used in their new careers. The importance of transferable skills for graduates cannot be overstated. There is a growing demand from employers for graduates with strong transferable skills desirable (Joyce & Showers, 2002, ...
