Composition of plastic materials

Containing of plastic materials

A plastic are physical good made up in a variety from synthetic and semi-synthetic organic solids required in the production of plastics.

Plastics are generally polymers (usually with high molecular mass) and contain other substances which help plastics in improving performance and reduce production costs. Plastic are classified as either a naturally produced plastic or synthetically produced plastic.

Plastic manufacturing allows it in different forms such as casted, pressed, or squeezed and molded into varieties of shapes. Examples of plastic in different forms are shaped plastic, filmed plastic, fiber plastic, plated plastic, tube plastic, bottled plastic, and boxed plastic.

Plastics are of two types namely thermo-plastic and thermo-set polymer. Thermoplastics are plastics that are produced without undergoing any chemical changes in their composition when heated and can be re-shaped repeatedly.

Thermo-set polymers have the property of melting down and obtaining that shape permanently. After the Thermo-set polymers are solidified, they remain as solid.

The main composition of plastic (no matter of any type) is from petroleum and natural gases. Plastic materials contains Alkenes (a chemical element and property which is required in the making of plastics), monomers (small molecules). However, main elements that compose plastics are Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Chlorine and Sulfur. For industrial purposes, Silicon is also used in this composition of Plastic.

Plastic usage to Human Health and Environment

Although plastic is less expensive in production aspect, and easy to use, however, plastic usage is very hazardous for the Human health as well as the Environment in which we are. One of the negative outcomes possessed after using the plastic element is that it is very toxic (easy to catch on fire), releases toxic fumes which are very dangerous for humans to breath as it results in negative consequences for human lives. Even the ...
