Analysis of poetry

Interpretation of "The Red Wheelbarrow" should rely very powerfully on its visual imagery. There is the vague, casual starting, "so much depends," then the pictures of the wheelbarrow and the white chickens. The book reader might be supported in contemplating the poem by C. Williams only flippant, or possibly he might believe that the bard proposes only to amuse through pictures, that he inquires us to envisage, from these juxtaposed pictures of red and white, a satisfying image or decorating as we read. Yet the pitch does not ask for a dismissal of the generalized introduction.
