United States today has an unprecedented democratic system. This fledgling nation has only a little over 250 years of established has become the most powerful nation on earth. Religious commitment or policy, or even sexual orientation (this is more questionable) are the characteristics of choice and not that nothing can change - but if our democracies protect freedom of religion and politics, it, under certain conditions, are the unconditional rights, must be protected. Citizen involvement in this corporately consolidated public sphere was promised but subtly ignored. The abused or misused power of corporate media is a significant reason why democracy is failing.

Ensuing from the founding of United States in 1776, the founding fathers have promoted ideals such as prosperity and liberty as the cornerstones of the American society. The ethos of American Dream also traces its roots in the United States Declaration of Independence. Even though, the legal statutes put forth in the declaration provided the basic framework for the American Dream by emphasizing on the equality of all men and the fundamental rights endowed by the Creator and provided by the state, such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; the declaration did not provide an absolute definition of the American Dream. In the fundamental essence, the initial instance of the American Dream surfaced with low-cost farm ownership.

The Declaration of Independence of the United States, is the document which proclaims that all men are created equal and are endowed with an inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, so we have remained "united and indivisible" even under the worst circumstances.
